Hello everyone! I hope your week is going well. I’m sure Fall is making an appearance in your neck of the woods as it is in ours. The weather here this week has been beautiful. It has been so cool. We haven’t had to use our air conditioner and have had the windows open. It is so nice!
As I type this post, it is very stormy looking outside. It isn’t doing anything, but we hope for a little rain for the garden. We have peas and tomatoes planted in the garden. We have radishes, broccoli, lettuce, cabbage, chard, etc. planted in seed starters. All of it is already coming up. So, we hope our Fall garden does as well as our Spring garden did.
It looks like we are headed for a hot weekend and into next week. I hope that forecast is wrong or changes. By the way, our thoughts and prayers are with the folks in Florida who have been affected by Hurricane Irma. In light of Harvey and Irma, we really can’t complain.
Last Friday, we heard on our local talk radio station that a local business was collecting cleaning supplies, nonperishable foods, gloves, etc. They were going to take an eighteen wheeler load of stuff to Texas on Monday. Mom and I were in town shopping at the time, and we decided to pick up a few things to donate. It was so rewarding to pick out items to give. We took the stuff to the proper location and a guy unloaded everything for us. He thanked us over and over. He told us they were going to have enough to take two truck loads instead of only one. That’s pretty neat. So, hats off to all who gave and especially to Reed’s Metals in Brookhaven, MS for transporting the goods to Texas! I’m sure we’ll be doing it all again for Florida.
