Trip to the Ozark Mountains

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

Hello everyone! I hope your week is going well. Ours has been pretty exciting so far.
Since our chat last week we have canned or frozen fifty-five quarts of green beans and there are more coming. We have also canned eleven pints of pickle relish. We will soon be canning squash, tomatoes, peas, butter beans, and peppers. Gardening season is a lot of fun, but it is a lot of work.We will enjoy the fruits of our labor this winter though.
In the midst of all that, we took a 3 day trip to Jasper, Arkansas to spend some time in the mountains of the Natural State. We had so much fun traveling the mountain roads and visiting the Buffalo National River. We got to see an Elk! The weather was beautiful. It was so cool there. I really love the mountains.
My dog, Miss Priss, wasn’t doing well when we left. She was battling allergies really bad and coughing a lot. I was worried about her. She never coughed while we were gone. It’s like the mountain air healed her. She’s a different dog than she was when we left.
I will share some photos at the end of this blog. If you ever want a laid back vacation in nature, Jasper is a great place. They have hiking, canoeing, etc. They even have an organic restaurant. It is just a neat place to relax and enjoy God’s beautiful creation.
